Here meet not the forces of party, but the forces of humanity. Men's hearts wait upon usg men's lives hang in the balanceg men's hopes call upon us to say what we will do. Who shall live up to the great trust? Who dares fail to try? I summon all honest men, all patriotic, all forward-looking men to my side. God helping me, I will not fail them, if they will but rounsel and sustain me. Such a man was Woodrow Wilson, a man of varied interests and accomplishments, whose ideas have a great effect on the world today. Since he was both a statesman and an educator, perhaps we, from observing his life, can find a formula for helping mankind live together. In this shrink- ing world where the oceans are spanned in a matter of hours, and con- tinents are accessable to each other as never before, the many excellent references to the thoughts and ideas of Wilson expressed in this book are most timely. They should be read and reread with understanding so that they become part of our everyday living. It is with these thoughts that we take leave of you, our 1960 graduates. Thomas R. After a few days of learning by trial and error to become a part of this great crowd of senior high school people, we moved along smoothly and confidently. We found it to be not unlike junior high-homework, report cards, merits and demerits, and even detention, But with it all we were happy to be a part of it and look forward with great pleasure to our junior year. ...aan adm 64 4694... With the '59 Prexy Cross Country team compiling an impressive 7-2 record, Coach Tom Forte is now looking forward to another victorious Track and Field season. Among the many returning lettermen, outstanding performances are expected from javelin-thrower Foster, hurdle ace W. McBride, shot putter C. Fest, sprinter R. Eckel, and distance stars W. Steel, J. Shenk, and R. Taylor. Wilson's thin-clads will be pointing towards the City Series and pressing all con- tenders for a repeat victory of the Camden County Championship. On your mark-get set-Bang! Already the teams have entered into inter-scholastic competition. The experience gained by such competition is a very effective means of ac- quiring skill in these new sports. The tennis players under the direction of Coach Nowak had a very interesting year. The team included one junior among seven seniors. They brought home a few surprising victories, even one from their archrival, Camden High School. First a theme, then a plan, then un- daunted by inexperience the actual work was under way. With efficient committees, long hours of work seasoned generously with timely quips and terse remarks, efhcient typists struggling with outmoded and overworked machines, each dead line was wearily met. But now the joy of an arduous job completed is far greater than the previous anxious hours. It is the hope of the entire staff that the yearbook will serve its purpose as a memory book of high school days. Sports Stat? fl. to rJ-D. Cohen, C. Fest, D. Wanicur, D.
