Class History 4B CLASS HISTORY The last regular meeting of the February Class of l966M was called to order by Linda Gunter, president. After the secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved, mem- bers used the meeting time for discussion and reminiscence. The subject was four and one half years of high school. When the class first entered the hallowed halls of Woodrow Wilson High School, it was in September, not February. We were not frightened freshmen, but completely terrified and bewildered eighth graders. The first year, as we remember it, was one af adjustment and settlement. We finally got into the routine, and then it was time for summer vacation. All of us did not return in Sep- tember, but those that did found themselves high Freshmen. During this year we began to join in the activities offered at Wilson, some in the Student Council, some in the Court of Honor, some as cheerleaders and football players. Others participated in such organizations as Tri-Hi- Y, Hi-Y, F.B.L.A., F.T.A., and Chorus. One big highlight of this year was our trip to Washing- ton with Mother Hubbard , our biology teacher, in order to learn more about the government. Our return after summer vacation again found our class reduced in number. High honors were bestowed upon The Greatest Band in The Land - The Woodrow Wilson High School Band. Many of us were fortunate enough to watch the band perform its spectacular halftime performance for the Baltimore Colt's halftime show. February came, and now we were finally UPPER Classmen. All excited by this turn of events, we hurried to Chapman's to order that class ring! One of the highlights of this year was our basketball team's Ramp in Richmond , when they brought home the Virginia State Championship Title. During the Christmas season the class ventured out again, this time to New York, and again with Mothered Hubbard. Our trip will be lang remembered by all of us, especially our visit to Radio City Music Hall and Times Square Motel. Right, gang? June came, and this time summer school bit a large chunk out of the size of our class. Then came September, 1965, when we made it ta the top as Seniors in the middle of the year. Mary Poppins, fourth period English, and the lunch table highlighted this season. Many af us worked an the design and decorations committee for the best Junior-Senior ever. Cin- deralla was the theme, and the night was called and remembered by many as, Once Upon a Dream. September, I966, marked the last September of our high school career. Summer school had left us with only I9 people, but we were a determined l9. We worked hard, and raised enough money which enabled us to have our own graduation. Our class colors were red and white, and our class song was to the tune of Yesterday, As we think about all our yesterdays dating back four and a half years, we also look ahead hopefully, not only to the years coming up, but ta the roll call that will come in l992, 25 years from now, when all of us meet again. Respectfully submitted Class of 66M 24
