anuary Class History ust remember in February, 1961, not so long ago, we came to Wilson, not in the Know- as Freshmen we began our high school career, with Dlck Lasting as SCA president and others giving us hope and cheer- th1s was the year our basketball team made each game an impressive event, and at the end of the season went to the State Tournament- utumn of '61 when back to books we were greeted, The football players of our class helped make the JV's go undefeated- Our school motto made good sense, Total Excellence Through Individual Excellence . ow we came back from the summer of '62, As high sophomores at our good ole orange and blue- Our football team had a 7-3 record which made us proud from head to foot, Into the Office of SCA president Julia Dorsey Reed we did put- Work and Win Through Honor and Scholarship became our goal, Toni Williams our Homecoming Queen, sure fitted the mold- sing our credit cards to buy our class ring, When they arrived, boy, did we sing! We took an active part in clubs and Hi-Y's, With Elwood Owens our SCA president, all you gals and guys- Our fighting Presidents, how hand they worked no one has to guess, s Larry Davis led the team to near perfect success- While in class we studied of Washington's and Lincoln's, And at Homecoming our Queen was Annette Jenkins- Character and Scholarship in the form of an original seal, Made us work hard with added zeal- oaring back for our last bi year, With the sound of the Graduation March in our ear- . It was the boys in our class-Baker, Edwards, Rhodes, Coleman, and Vincent who led our eleven through the football season, To shout for the team we had every good reason- This year we worked on the Homecoming floats, And Queen Avenell Harrington received our votes- Bobby Heely was president of the SCA, He did his best in every way- Jim White was our 4B Class President, who had a lot to do, As we ordered announcements, planned for the Banquet, and took pictures boo- es as our class graduates we'll shed many tears, But we'll always cherish the memory of these past years- To future Wilson High School students let us leave. This message which you can surely believe- If you will benefit from your education, A good lesson in life you will have won- Class of 6456 26
