Horeword The hero of this edition of the 1964 Presi- dent, as is the case with all yearbooks, has to be the camera. Every page is mute evidence of the influence this device exerts in any publication such as this, so the staff felt it should have the prominence it so richly deserves. This you will find carried out on all seven divider pages. If, in browsing through this book, you are not able to find yourself, do not blame our hero. He has recorded everything he has seen in the course of the school year, and you will have to blame yourself for not making your presence available when the opportunities presented themselves. It is the hope of the staff that through the eye of our hero many events and scenes will be pleasantly recalled in the years ahead. At this point, afurther word about the dividers should be injected to help your recall in the future. The camera eye called upon the help of representative faculty and student subjects to complete the divider spreads. Miss Georg- iana Woodhouse and Harriet Levin, F.T.A. president, introduce the faculty section, Mrs. Suzanne Knowls and Robert Bartlett, class president, the senior section, Mrs. Elba Hu- bard and Bob Heely, Junior Class president, the classes section, Mrs. Elizabeth Blanford and Elwood Owens, S.C.A. president, the organizations section, Mrs. Mary Jo Brady and Sophie MacKenzie, the features, Coach Ralph Gahagan and Larry Davis, the sports section, Miss Kanela Maydanis and Sherman Wingate, top salesman in D.E. Club, the advertising section. A glance at the table of contents to the right will give you some idea of what is in store for you on the pages that follow. The staff sincerely hopes there will be something of interest for everyone.

, lf , ,W ,M -fini,-wlX',1'.-A'-' . Dedication If it be true that the length of a per- son's shadow is the influence he leaves upon his generation, Miss Louise Mays is very tall indeed. Countless lives have been influenced and enriched by association with her fine intellect, her keen wit, and her boundless en- thusiasm for her subject, English, which she has taught for the ast thirty-seven years at Wilson High School. As she leaves our world of school bells, mountains of papers to grade, l 1 and both the receptive and recalcitrant student, we, the present student body, wish for her Bon Voyage in her travels, many new Broadwa plays for her enjoyment, and good, health and countless years in which to enjoy her new world of retirement. Miss Mays, the 1964 President Staff considers it a distinct honor and priv- ilege to dedicate this book to you. We hope that you take with you fond memories of your association with us, for you leave a void in our lives which can only be filled by the knowledge that you will now have time for that good life about which you have taught us. MISS LOUISE MAYS These will help recall Open Houses, the many desk hours, and the skit which you helped present on the occasion of Principal Sweeney's retirement. t.-Y 'z pb 1- fgfxtlfgfi 5
