In Memoriom -+ Mrs. Gertrude Kipp Waldron, recognized as a devoted teacher, died October 16, 1962, just two weeks after she met her classes for the last time. Educated at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Rich- mond, and the University of Virginia, she brought to her classes a wealth of knowledge which she had acquired through prolific reading and diligent study. She was keenly observant, constantly alert to current events, deeply concerned about the problems ofthe educational' field. Her cultural background was a broad one, so that those who came under her influence were aware that she knew whereof she spoke. Though her last weeks of teaching were spent under most adverse circumstances engendered by pain and physical suffering, Mrs. Waldron bravely performed the duties of a classroom teacher and planned her work efficiently even from her hospital bed. In the death of Gertrude Waldron, Woodrow Wilson High School has lost a conscientious teacher, and the community,a woman of integrity. 21
