DR. ROBERT W. ALLEN Princqza! A justice of our present Supreme Court has stated in an official opinion: 'Nothing is more certain in modern society than the principal that there are no absolutes.' Modern writers claim that teachers are no longer qualified to guide the young because the generations live in two different worlds. Politicians rant that we cannot solve today's pro- blems with yesterday's solutions. True, the winds of greed and envy have profoundly shaken the world you were born into. We see it darkly. But fear not, friends. After the storm the dust will settle, and the sarne truths will still be there. Your school days will not have been in vain. Walter T. H. Calliford WALTER T. H. GALLIFORD Assistant Princitz al Administration A yearbook is like a clock or calendar in that all three mark the passage of time. It is my earnest wish that this book will remind you many times in the long years ahead of four profitable years passed in the classrooms and on the playing fields of Woodrow Wilson High School. I pray that you are better people for having passed this way. This year our theme has been WORK and WIN with HONOR and SCHOLARSHIP. As we glance backward we can take prideinthe fact that generally we have been a working group, and our work has frequently resulted in victories both scholastically and athleticallyz but most important of all, we have held high the badge of honor. You can finish your year, or your high school course in the case of seniors, with a deserved Well donel' from your principal. Robert W. Allen
