Page 30 FEBRUARY CLASS PROPHECY Slowly the huge and modern space sh1p gllded toward 1tS runway on the Moon Inslde stewardess ANN MARIE COLES told us to fasten our seat belts for the landmg Then our co pxlot JIMMY JENKINS came through to make sure that every thxng was golng as lt should because we knew that our old frlend FRED ARCHER was at the controls As we alxghted from the space Shlp we saw the mayor of the town on hand to greet us We were dellghted when we dlscovered that he was none other than our chum from long ago BILLY GILLENWATERS Wlth h1m was the operator of the landlng fleld VINCENT BRODA We then entered the a1r statxon and saw BILLIE SCHIE MANN and FRANCES SHARPE who were buy 1ng tlckets for a v1s1t back to Portsmouth Vxr g1n1a USA Presldxng at the tlcket wlndow was ANN DEATON Just as we stepped outslde aga1n we were stopped by pohceman ROY MAULT, who offered to hall a cab A long gold charlot xmmedlately sl1d up to the walk way drxven by VANCE McEACI-IERN As we drove to the hotel we d1s cussed the happenings of the many years smce we had last seen each other It seemed only a few moments unt1l we had reached our destlnatlon The bell boy GRAHAM HUTCI-IINS took our bags He welcomed us wxth a grm We would have enjoyed talkmg to h1m however we paused to speak w1th the manager PEYTON GLENN He walked us to the space elevator and told the operator GORDON TAY LOR, to take us up to the 1007 floor As we walked 1nto our sulte the mald DORIS PRINCE, was Just leavmg We declded to call room servlce and have our lunch sent up Guess who brought It ln It was our old schoolmate PEGGY LATON The moonb am souffle was so del1c1ous that we went down to the kltchen to see lf we could get the recmpe To our surprlse we saw that the chlef d1et1t1an was CAROLYN BRANTON' Walklng through the lobby we saw the re nowned author PEGGY GASKINS W1th her was JOY WYATT the fashlon deslgner They were on the1r way to VlSlt the towns leadmg dress shop and mv1ted us to go along The owner of the shop WILMA SMITHWICK greeted us profusely Whlle we were talklng DOROTHY SMITH came 1n and asked for the seamstress To our astonishment she proved to be ROSIE BLACKBURN We wanted to stay and talk but we had an appolntment to vlslt Xavlar Moons leadmg televlsxon statlon Our guxde the statlon was JESSIE LONG We one studlo e star was or a By Mary Rose Wrlght performance Next door ANN SPEARS was act 1ng as MC for a quxz show After seelng her we went outslde to Walt for RUTI-I OLIVER who had 1DVlt8d us to tea We were Jolned by JANICE FOSTER DAR LENE GODWIN and DORIS POWELL They wanted to v1s1t the art gallery w1th us but had already planned to be present at an 1mportant meetmg of the Oddwomen TOBY LERMAN was speakmg on The Hxstory of the Moon We stopped at the drug store on the way back to the hotel and were helped by ZANE KING She was very surprlsed to see us and called the drugglst CARL PARKER He told us that the hotel nurse GAIL FUTRELL was another 1958175 grad He also adv1sed us to stop at the bank and have our money changed xnto moon currency The bank teller who changed our money was EDWARD LONG He mformed us that the bank presldent REGGIE DICKENS, was away on a busmess tr1p to another planet He had taken w1th h1m h1s prlvate secretary GEORGE PEED Fmally we went to a flower shop to buy some moon poppxes to wear that n1ght The florlst MARIE BLOW was more than helpful She even neglected another customer scxentlsts ROSSER MILTIER He dld' not seem to mmd at all and mvxted us to V1Slt h1m whxle we were on the moon That mght we went to the Moonglow a luxurl ous n1ght spot The hat check g1rl ELEANOR RUDE lmmedlately polnted out to us MISS MOONBEAM OF 1975 DIANE CRUTCHER We thanked her and went to Slt w1th JIMMY SMITH The walter ROBERT LIPSCOMB took our order He told us that the band leader DALLAS LAW RENCE had Just won the hlghest posslble award for hls muslcal achlevements One of the drum mers 1n h1s band was EARL SMITHWICK Just then we happened to glance across the room and saw the dlrector of mter space commerce BUDDY WYATT, w1th hls secretary GEORGE MARTIN They were seated at the table w1th CARLENE GEORGE MARLENE REYNOLDS and her 13th husband were among those danclng to the muslc of the band w1th RICHARD WILLIAMS at the plano At that very moment the curta1n went up on the world famous smger GLADYS GEORGE, and her partner ALAN JACOBSON They gave a splendxd performance The phxlanthroplst from outer space HARRY ELLEN was among those who applauded loudly It was a thoroughly en1oyable evemng w remarked to the doorman RONALD CLARK as we left Yet 1n splte of all the splendor and excltement we have known durlng our tr1p to the Moon the most memorable part was bemg wxth old classmates once aga1n WV Get xt nght Dallas Won t they ever begun that mus1c9 .
