Superintendent of Schools Mr. Paul C. Bunn To the Students and Teachers of Woodrow Wilson High School-Greetings l congratulate you on the selection of a very timely theme for your Annual- TELEVlSlON. Television is no longer an experimentg it is accepted as one of the most important media of mass communication. The prefix tele signifies far, operating at a distance. This means that Woodrow Wilson High School is interested through its Yearbook in looking into the futureg in considering the possibilities for a continuous improvement of your schoolg and in planning for the preparation of boys and girls for a useful career. The high schools of tomorrow will offer an even greater variety of courses and activities that will provide opportunities for every student to prepare himself to become a loyal citizen of our community and nation, provided, of course, that he is willing to work and to make the best use of his God-given talents. As a part of a high school student's preparation for life, he should keep in mind that to get the most out of his education he must realize that he has an obligation to serve his community and his countryg to help people who are in needg and to recognize the Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man. PAUL C. BUNN Superintendent of Schools

Principal To the Seniors: This is my last written word to you as the class of l956. We have enjoyed your companionship for a number of years, you have contributed your share to the spirit of Wilson High School, we are hoping that you will retain the bonds of affection for Wilson through the years. As you leave the bright and joyous scenes of high school days, you will take with you golden memories ot friendships, of work and play, of laughter, of song and music, of the joy that comes from working and playing together. You are approaching your Commencement. It is truly a Commencement, for you are about to enter into a broader, more challenging period of living, and you will continue to learn more about the ways of God, the ways of men, and the ways of nature. The way will not always be pleasant, there will be sunlight and shadow in the path ahead. If you descend into the valley of despair and heartache, we hope that Wilson has given you strength. When you toil upward toward the purple heights, and golden peaks of happy, joyous, successful living, we hope that Wilson has given you the vision that will enable you to hope and to aspire. Our sincere prayer for you is that you may enjoy the fruits of your labors to the fullest, and may your lives be blest with the material and spiritual blessings that make for success. As ever, your principal GEORGE W. GLASGOW Mr. G. W. Glasgow
