This year's session of school was little more than under way when all those at Wilson were stunned by a sense of loss and deep sorrow by the news of the death of Miss Ruth Cooper, a beloved teacher at Wilson since its founding. Although her physical presence is gone from our sight, her kind and gentle spirit lingers on, and the memory of her generous and friendly deeds will live on in our hearts. She never forgot her student friends and their needs in life - she remembers them in death, for she left in her will several thousand dollars to establish col- legiate scholarships for deserving Wilson students. Thus passes a beautiful, cour- ageous personality which gave to Wilson its finest and best. George W. Glasgow, Principal IN MEMORIA i l l MISS RUTH COOPER

MR. HUGH HOUSTON Mr. Hugh Houston, a faithful servant of the youth of Woodrow Wilson High School for 22 years, has joined that innumerable throng that has laid down their earthly burdens and await the Master's voice, Well done thou good and faithful servant . His loss we feel deeply, as do all the boys and girls who have been members of his classes dur-- ing the years. We will miss him, his kindly, genial manner and his eagerness to serve youth. Our deepest sym- pathies are extended to his family. George W. Glasgow, Principal
