UPPER RIGHT-The Radish Boys are hard at work. LOWER LEFT-The only class where the teacher wants students to make noise-two physics boys experimenting with sound. LOWER RIGHT- Dogfish under glass in the biology class. The Math and Science Departments present a complete program of subiects which are designed to teach students to think rather than merely to learn facts. Through such subjects as physiology, physics, chemistry, biology, general science, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and solid geometry the students are instructed in methods of analytical and deductive reasoning which are designed to help them take a successful place in today's highly technological society. 6 SCIENCE CHAIRMAN-Mrs. Maclntyre checks over two budding microbiologists. lABORATORY SCIENCE AWARD - Steve Young demonstrates the distilling apparatus. INDUSTRIAL ARTS-UPPER LEFT: Some very pretty tooled copper is made in the crafts classes A UPPER RIGHT: Looks like a wrought iron book rack being welded in the metal shop A LOWER LEFT: The woodshop boys turn out an assortment of shadow boxes A LOWER RIGHT: In the radio and electricity classes the students learn the fundamentals of tube testing A FAR RIGHT: Operating the Linotype is an essential print shop activity. The Vocational Arts Departments provide the facilities for a highly varied commercial education. The shops, the foods, clothing, shorthand, and typing classes form the stage on which students receive the train- ing which will enable them to take their place in the business world.
