Seaman, for the never-ending love you have shown for Wilson-for your endurance with our problems . . . that often seem too big . . . and for your gracious help and smile that you so willingly give to us. As we prepare to begin the many episodes of life which are awaiting us, flashbacks of school days shine in our minds. The all-important bleachers for our athletic field was the main goal not too many years ago. And taking little credit, but doing so much for their final completion were you, Miss Seaman, our enthusiastic principal. Shiny band uniforms gleam before our eyes, a beautiful science and commercial K building can be accredited to you, and our attractive campus makes Wilson a home 'N cl ' , to all. Most important of all is a principal the students can depend on, a principal NVKQ 3 who is always on the lookout to safeguard her school, and a principal who is a XX friendly adviser. We need no casting director to tell us you are a naturaI for the A 'tl part. The happy years we have spent wit h you prove this. Looking ahead we see lj how much the many little things have do ne for us. Careful guidance and a good J Qi y example of democracy point the path for active citizens .... Yes, as a tribute to 'Y' I X you, Miss Seaman, we dedicate this ann ual, a lasting memory of our love for you. t S i -M ' if ' :S fjifzm H4414 tg 5 S v X Ass't Supt. From awkward moppets, they have become full fledged actors in the Muleville firmoment. They are interested in school gov- ernment, and are making school history for themselves in sports and clubs. There are no villains to hiss in these senior classes, but there are o lot of handsome heroes to cheer, and of course for every male counterpart of Allan Ladd there is a female Shirley Temple. 5. .,'?f i.f Q SENIOR B OFFICERS-FRONT: Cheerleaders E. Many of the boys, although unusually young and inexperienced, turned in credit- able performances. Standout players were Louie Miraula and Gil Carrasco who played inspiring ball all season long. Louie and Gil shone brightly both on offense and defense. Other boys who turned in fine performances were Vince Mucci, Ronnie Cameron, Tiny Gelalich, Earl Sternfeld and Tommy Wolfman. Winning 7 games, it dropped all opposing teams but Huntington Park and Belmont. Paced by two leading hitters, William Garcia and Anthony Troncale, and with the expert infield of Sarver at third, Mills at short, Shakleford at second, and Troncale at first, the Mules were a match for any team in the league. They drop- ped Marshall in the first league encounter by the score of 5-3. They knocked over Belmont with ease, and in the second round thumped Hunting- ton Park 7-3. Three-year letterman Kenny Smith and four-year letterman Dean Harrier found berths as second and third All-City tennismen, respectively. The city finals came as the climax to a season in which the Mule team, after winning four out of five practice meets, netted three out of five league contests for a second place in the loop. The tennis taggers lost many a match by but a single point. Gary Slagle, Bob Singer, Jerry Pearlmutter, and Bob Shaw were boys who continued to keep Wilson in the game. GYM CLUB-Coach Ross, H. High point men of the season were Laudise, who was undefeated in his specialty, tumbling, and Armando Vega, a ninth grader who garnered many firsts on the parallels. Taking o third in league competition, the Mules had the spirit that makes good teams, but they fiust didn't have that final pushi ond lost three games by only u one point margin. Forwards Smith, Mills, and Moken gave the boys a good front wall and attack, while Moken, Shippey, and Valdez could always be counted on to sink the long ones from their respective positions. The D's weren't as fortunate as the Cs but they had team spirit and the hustle and drive that is always found in a small team. Outstanding men glimmered on the cin- der-stage as the Muleville rooters saw Co-Captain Davy Rosellini break his old records in the high and low hurdles time and time again. Paul Milazzo made a fool of many of the so-called experts as he continued to take firsts in both the 100 and 220. Most prevalent in the minds of Wilson students who attended the Northern league finals was the Wil- son relay teams' win in the outstanding time of 3:08.4. This was ll seconds bet- ter than the only winning time of the season, and set a new school record. I L13 WW Always in there fighting, and never quit- ting, the '51 thinclads powered their way to many a first in the Northern league track events, although they lost their meets. Among the top boys were Paul Wade, who lost only one race in league competition, in his 660 specialty, and Paul Williams who kept getting those blue ribbons by his kangaroo-like ability in the high iump. The squad was littered with such potentials as Jim Durbin, Russell Morreale, Howard Little, Mike Tavolieri and Louie Lombardi. The first place track team in the school's history! This distinction goes to the C track squad, which tied for first with Poly's midgets. Leading the boys were such standouts as Vince Pugliese, Jerry Fior, Armando Vega, Mickey Moken, Steve Molina, Dudley Gratch, Gary Petrich, Hubert Hopkins, and Dennis Schardien. The C's were hit by sharp bits of hard luck all the way. Mickey Moken missed the broad iump record by 2V2 inches, while the C relay missed the record by only U10 of a second, and two unofficial records were made in the low hurdles, and relay. Vince Pugliege set a new 180, record of 19.9 on his first try. S K i f CUM' X fm QQ ATTRACTI r , - fi N 1 4 , .1 N .X N 1 'sb Q - Q ,QQ X .X 1 xx MZ B' 6 J tltlb G.A.A. CLUB-SEATED: J. Gibbs, G.
