SHADCWS CDF THE FUTURE While visiting the library in that great metropolis whose name happens to be Beckley, we found a book of the private? and public lives of certain individuals who used to inhabit this area. The name of this book was Who lsn't, and hastily glancing through it we found many of our old school chumlpls listed. lf you read carefully this revised edition, maybe you, too, will find some of your lso-calledl 'Friends included. On the very tirst page we find the names and outstanding achievements of the following people: Tommy Ballengee is now a model for sport clothes with a modern swing. We're 'told she sometimes makes her own outfits. Eber Deem Roush is a cub reporter on that famous paper known as the Who Who Hollow Monthly. We also found Gloria Goldstein as head of the society page. Martin ,Abraham is President of Barton College, located at that famous city of Bounc- ing Bubble Baths , Bubloo, Utah. Bill Huddleston owns a fruit market, which he runs in his spare time. His speciality is citrus fruits such as lemons. Margaret Foster has received her Doctor of Philosophy Degee after already receiving ten other degrees. Congratulations, Margaret! . . . Nelda Gunter has dyed her hair: she now is a placid red head. Tsk! Tskl We find Ted Starr guarding his position as guard on the Fighting Musicians All Stars at Sing Sing. J. W. Muir is now a fat man in a side show.. He weighs 379 lbs. I knew he should have walked in '42. Mary Ashworth has been going from school to school giving talks on Bad Habits for young Men and Women. .lean Fisher is champion ot the '62 Personality Contest. Aubrey Jackson was one ofthe judges. Lorena Michael is teaching Bowling to Beginners at her alley on Neville Street. On the side she runs a fruit market taking care oi all the bills charged by Snaps in '42. Deem Ramey has taken up the harp for a hobby. On Sunday afternoons he gives out with jive for his associates at Spencer. Arthur Wesley is now teaching Latin and Chemistry in the new addition of W. W. H. S. Jim Word is now giving lessons to all the youngsters at the Worddale Swimming Pool at Sprague, on How to Swim with Water-Wings in Ten Easy Lessons. Jack Binderman, president of Stumpermind College is starting his fourth campaign for President of the United States. His able opponent is Philip Rahall, dean of Wasser School for Girls. Shirley Heller has been listed in Who lsn't since she has decomposed a classic un- intentionally. She had her inspiration from a tough section of town which means she just plain murdered it. Gerald Glamour Boy Fleshman, last year's Glamour Boy No. I, has taken the final step. Because of his well known ability to pitch WOO, he will be buried in Woo Woo, National Park. Constantine Corey is now well on his way to an outstanding musical career. He has started with a swing band known as Con Corey and His Corney Crumbs. Bill Simpson is now teaching at Woodrow Wilson, where he has been a student tor 777 years. Janet Koch is now a very 'Famous novelty jewelry designer. She made a hit last year with her long beads. Harold Miller is now learnin' all the kids music out at Pumpkin Seed, Ky. Madeline Corey is now directing her own orchestra consisting entirely ot girls. Once a month they meet with Bernard Crawtord's Sweet Swinging Staggs. Paul Lotlin is still the handsomest bachelor in town. Even though he is bashtul, he practically has to beat ott the women when he goes out tor his morning walk. Louise Aiello has taken the place ot Lowell Thomas as a radio comrnon-'tator. Pat Kidd has been drawing cartoons for a famous short in class C movies known as El, the Town's Bad Boy. Anna Lee Trent is chiet singer land bottle washerl tor that super-duper band known as the W, Va. Ridge Runners. Anne Ritchie Ware is being mentioned as a successor to the 'Famous Nero. It seems that she tiddled while Woodrow Wilson burned. George Hall is engineer for the Loop Creek Lizzie Special that runs between nowhere and here. We think he got his start when he received an electric train for Christmas in '4l. Parthenia Holliday and Sara Bales are co-drum maiorettes for the Rowdy-Dow College rhythm band. This is an outstanding school tor the feeble-minded. Patty Ann Larrick recently wrote a book called How Not to Find a Man. lt seems her main topic is Dream Men. Betty .lean Brown has just given Eugene Cox his nine hundred and ninety-ninth Conga Lesson. On the preceding pages any similarity to persons or places visible or invisible is purely intentional: any misunderstanding in the interpretation may be explained by the authors. lit you can find theml Margaret Wetzel Louise Aiello THE SPEECH ARTS CLUB lis group is composed of literary, dramatic 1d public spealring clubs and has no imbined officers. 5OhS0l'SZ Miss Stephenson Mrs. Martin ie Speech Arts Club is c omposed of stu- :nts interested in public spealring and erary worlr, such as oratory, debate, extem- :raneous spealring, and poetry interpreta- in. The shadow of our former lives looms before us and this is what it tells: lt is said, by those who lcnew him well, that Eugene Cox killed three people while driving 'to a fire' one day. On graduation night, Margaret Foster was convicted and sentenced to tive years on a charge of 'no wantie to tallie'. Shirley Heller thought of leaving school to join George White's Scandals, but she wasn't accepted because she lrnew more scandal than George White and that wouldn't do. Lloyd Pomylrata was accused of visiting a beauty parlor, but now we know that it really IS permanent. Billy Huddleston and Anne Ritchie Ware were almost expelled for telling Miss Ethel Keyser all the jokes they knew. P.S. Miss Keyser lost her originality. Mrs. Thomson added a new talent during the year of '4l-'42, She learned how to publish an annual without the aid of an expert staff.
