PRINCIPAL E. DALE DOUGLAS His second year as principal at Woodrow Wilson has doubtlessly brought Mr. Dale Douglas many satisfactions. One is the satisfaction of seeing pupil and teacher fall in behind his leadership to effect a smoothly-operating school program. He has been able to accomplish this through industrious organ- izing, his praise of jobs well done, and by a gentle firmness of manner coupled with an inviting cheeriness. No pupil, no teacher or other employee at Wilson High has a better friend or a stronger champion than E. Dale Douglas. 24

DR. WARREN TRAVIS WHITE Superintendent of Schools I I A I ? m DR. EWELL D. WALKER Personnel f r M ROBERT H. McKAY Administration ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF BOASTS OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SCHOOL MEN The administrative staff of the Dallas Independent School District, headed by Dr. W. T. White, Superintendent of Schools, is one of which any school system in the land would be proud. Dr. White in his thirteen years as superintendent has seen the system grow from 68 schools, 1,600 teachers, and 54,000 pupils to the present 140 schools, 3,800 teachers, and 1 1 2,000 pupils. A lesser executive would have fallen by the wayside under the burden of such a mushroom growth. Rather, Dr. White and his assistants have demonstrated the strength of the oak in keeping ahead of the needs of a great educational system. JESSE F. CARDWELL Secondary Education H. V .
