LIVING BRICK AND MORTAR and the glory of our School! What is it that makes one—undergraduate or ex-student—pass a silent, empty building—night or early morning or day; summer or long term—and sing a stirring fight song, give a wildcat yell, or a Yea, Woodrow! as he speeds on by? DEDICATION To Paul F. Allen we dedicate this 1958 CRUSADER. A member of the Woodrow Wilson faculty for fourteen years, he, in his own cheery manner, has been an inspiration to all. Students have found him to be an understanding counselor, a competent teacher, and a sincere friend. His Spanish classes have discovered that the learning process can be enjoyable as well as educational with such a professor as he. His annual staffs throughout the years have been deeply grateful for his guidance, comprehension of their problems, and appreciation of their work. We have become more aware of Mr. Allen's many talents, vast store of knowlege, and versatility, as a result of his starting French classes in Woodrow in September, 1957. Over our advisor's vehement protests, which were nullified by Principal Dale Douglas' orders, the '58 CRUSADER staff proudly dedicates this edition of our record of memories to Mr. Allen. Mr. end Mrs. Allen prepare to go out on the town for their wedding anniversary. They look pretty sharp, don't they? Mr. Allen bows three times to the staff to show his appreciation for being selected as dedicatee of the '58 CRUSADER. 7
