This is the spirit of Christmas! Dolores Crist and Mary Cox make a centerpiece for the Red Cross project in Paul Allen’s counseling class. Active partici ation in the Red Cross drive howed their interest in less ortunate people, and various chool organizations did iiuch to make Christmas as njoyahle as possible for icedy families.

WOODROW CHRISTMAS Is there a Santa Claus? Certainly there is. and one doesn't mean “Santa Leavell. although he is a good one. As long as there is the spirit of generosity and good will, as at Woodrow at Christmas time, one can have faith in the personification of that spirit. Preparation for the holidays is felt many weeks away, as students and teachers look forward to family reunions, brightly colored packages and sumptuous Christmas dinners. Christmas greetings are heard in the halls (even a “Feliz Navidad occasionally I, and carols are sung everywhere—in the band and chorus rooms, the cafeteria. classrooms, and even in the gym dressing rooms. . . and a-WA they of a thistle!” all flew, like the down Pajama-clad Beverly Bennett recites the traditional “A Visit from St. Nicholas ( I was the night before Christmas”) on the Christmas assembly. llmmm . . Lucky Santa! Lucky Glenda Smith tells bun that she wants a six-foot, blue-eyed. black-haired guy for herself. 'I SI . . . And wild and sweet, tin words repeat of peace oi earth, good will to men.” Or the day before the holiday Robert Payne, right, direct; his carolers in singing in tin front hallway in the yearly presentation.

TWELFTH MAN ACTIVITIES MANY Real live doll , make lots of noise! The Whisper Yell is always good for enthusiastic response. as here at Franklin Field. Brave on the gridiron, but timid before the student body, are these tri-captains of the Wildcats. Curtis Rivers, John Beeson, and Tommy Murray, speaking at a pep assembly. Not-so-friendly undertakers that is. to the Adamson team. Mike Shelby and Steve Little are shown retouching their art work before the Leopards are laid six feet under. The “hearse headed a parade to Franklin Field that night. A fine performance on the field calls for a like performance in the stands. Majorettes Eulalie Perdue, Glenda Smith. Martha Hedgecock. Sherry Watson. and Mary Lou Cook step lively to the cheers of the Woodrow Dolls.
