G. L. Ashburn-A unique principal fora unique school For twenty-six years this tall, soft-spoken Texan has ably administered his school. To the students at Wood-row, however, Pop Ashburn is more than a dignified educator. He is the voice on the P.A. every morning, he's the man on the bench at the football games, and he's the proudest man in the reviewing stand during the Wednesday morning parades. Most of ail, though, Pop is a friendly smile and a helping hand to the student with a perplexing problem. tagifSEttm' A familiar figure at all school activities, Mr. Ashburn joins the fun at the senior prom. This is the way Pop counsels his charges on the air. At Senior Assembly Mr. Ashburn is presented an enlarged picture of the 1953 Wildcat football team from emcees Floyd Bloom and David Millicon.
