Y . G. L. ASI-IBURN Woodrow Wilson High School has had a splendid year-many kind things have been said about the Triple W spirit and many victories attributed to it. To out- siders this spirit may be merely an intangible phrase but to us land, by us, we mean every student-both past and presenthof Woodrow Wilson High Schoolj it is embodied in the real and definite personality of our principal, G. L. Ashburn. We admire him for his work as an educator, as well as for his good sportsmanship. By example and precept Mr. Ashburn stands for the three aims of education: the formation of character, the inculcation of ideals, and the creation of real citizenship. A certain great writer once said that the Hrst requisite of a gentleman was consideration for others , and in this quality our principal is supreme. His sympathy, unfail- ing kindness, and generous understanding have compelled the admiration and respect of his student body. To each member of the class of 1936 he stands as a high example of sportsman, educator, gentleman, and friend.
