Students Advance to Solution Chemistry Team . . . the oldest club on campus, prepared students to participate in chemistry com- petition with all high schools in Southern California. In the Spring they had a chance to use the knowledge gained under the direction of Dr. Voisard by taking a three- hour test designed for advanced chemistry students. Chess Club . . . promoted interest in chess and pro- vided a place for students to play and de- velop their talent. Art Club . . . an open member club to which any student could belong, took field trips to various art galleries and exhibits, such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Pasadena Art Museum, and the private art galleries on La Cienega Boulevard in Los Angeles. Tom Acevedo was this year's president. Miss Ilene Tressler was the spon- sor. Architectural Club . . . Supplemented students' study of de- sign through extra-curricular activities such as field trips to local architectural feats, CBS studio and Irvine residential communi- ties. This year's sponsor was Mr. Charles Copeland, president, Mike Eselun. La Fuente . . . provided an outlet for creativity through the expression of emotion in poetry, prose, and illustration. Their main project was the publication of the 1970 - 71 issue of La Fuente, a Literary magazine containing stu- dent work. lt was sponsored by Miss lane Townley, with co-presidents Bonnie Corn- wall and Rae Rolsman.

Physics Colloquium . . . was basically a coming together of students to discuss advanced topics in physics under the supervision of Mr. Keith Gurney.
