I- I NEW BLEACHERS-After 22 years of irregular grandstand facilities, the 1948 football season will be ushered in by 5000 new steel permanent bleachers. Whelw completed, the giant night lights will flood the field for night sports. ln addition to the 5000 permanent seating, 1400 wooden bleachers will al- so be installed. The steel grandstands will be erected on both sides of the football fieldg 2000 on the north side and 3000 on the south side. These seating facilities are expected to be finished by next Septem- ber in time for Wilso11's opening sports, schedule. f X- GOVERNMENT-Individual and group responsibility were assumed by students in carrying out the new constitution which was made law after a heated whirlwind campaign, home room discuss- ions and an open forum assembly where both sides were discussed. The new instrument was modeled after the national constitution with executive, judicial and legislative departments. Vincent Jones, new stu- dent body President, conceived the idea of enlarged student government at Boys' State last summer, and the new constitution was the result which was sponsored by Junior Statesmen. The new oflicers in- clude: president, vice president, secretary, and governors of welfare, athletics, safety, finance, and en- tertainment. 3 5 I I GUIDANCE--In step with the great world movement to fit everyone in the place where he will be most useful to himself and to the society, the Wilson counseling department has been doubled, giving students opportunity to ask information on courses, life work, occupational information and aptitude tests. Preventive advice starts him on the right track. Students are given help in line with their capacity to achieve. Through a study of the labor market, types of jobs that are fairly stable over a long period of time are discussed, and students are directed against crowded vocations.
