i D NEW GYlVlAThe new gym designed by Physical Education teachers of Long Beach who stunliecl gyms in some ten different types of builclings including high schools, army installations, naval bases, municipal pools, U.C.L.A., orthopedic units and many consultants. Nlr. Davis, Miss Reagan, ancl Mr. C. Meyer were committee members from Wfilson. For 13 years the physical education program has func- tioned at about 40 percent, about two units of five were taught. The-re has been no orthopedic pro- gram, no aquatic program on the campus. Basketball teams have hitchhikecl four miles across the city for a 45 minute practice, competing against all other schools who have full time availibility of practice courts.
