B1 CSUVIERNURS XVilson's arsenal of democracy has swept forward in giant strides to promote the war eflort. Located in the dense defense plant area, every thing at Xwilson is premeated and steeped in the war movement. Wilstmii governors see this all first hand. Big hattle ships, cruisers, thousands of planes leave, return to the long Beach area. Witli these challenges governors have ended another successful school year. Outstanding legislation of the year was revision of the constitution to admit the House of Representatives, gold foothalls were presented to the Jinx Bustersgw they sponsored a hond drive with Alhamhrag Austin Bryne, Australian speaker, gave a talk on Australia, and the student hody flocked to the dances at the Municipal Auditorium following the Friday night haslcethall games. LG S'I'lIuiiN'l' COUNCIL Composed of competent leaders from every student hody activity in Wilstvii, the Student Council is the main governing hody in Wfilson. This year the council has come forth with new and great enthusiasm: it has voted the House of Representatives into the school Constitution, plan- ned fine interesting assemhlies, checked all Hnances and reported findings to the House of Representatives. Headed hy Miss V. Johnston, some twelve teachers and twenty-five students held discussions over a period of months which stimulated the House of Representatives to new enthusiasms, including assemhlies, launching a democratic three party system and fiery open forums. 26

Christiniis carcls, and 200 ash trays were launchecl and put through with great success: patriotic girls were found every Wfediiesclay night at Reel Cross Heaelquarters making surgical dressings. and committees were kept lnusy fashioning baby clothes and layettes for Navy Relief. The League ventured lu Poly and ff. for tea .intl shared in group discussions on problems facing the high school girl. Other successful activities were the Spoiisofs tea, Pug and Little Sister party.
