Look out, Japs, the shop men are armed f PRE-INDUCTION CLASSES-Two periods daily for the IZA Seniors were given to pre-induction courses necessary for preparation of war. College prep training which had been life long ambitions was suddenly scrapped, delayed, till post war times. Since military authorities placed great empha- sis on physical condition, every senior boy spent two hours daily in physical conditioning and mili- tary training. Twelve weeks were spent in formal military drill and six weeks at the lagoon in swim- ming including night encounter if forced to abandon ship in battle. Pre-induction classes include short courses in hygiene, military organization, nutrition, first aid, occupational information, and an elective nine week course chosen from radio and code, blue print reading, nurses' aid, navigation, meteorology, wartime office training, review math, occupational crafts, and auto mechanics.
