HOME ARTS-MOON, Olmsted, Larsen, Symonds. if Priming for good defense work is the home nursing class in their study of contagious diseases. Watch the popular Junior trio of Long Beach, Wilson has its own corps of clever announcers that sell Wilson to the the sophomores follow war with their scare headlines. Jackie, Marianne, aand Minnie Ruth have become student body. Future secretaries are trained in all the types of modern office machines. And girls study colors, necklines, textures, drapes, hair styles in clothing selection. ir RED CROSS-Knitting hundreds of little red sweaters for the shell-shocked evacuees in war-torn Europe was the work of eager Wilson girls. Answering the challenge to help others in need, girls were spurred by the knowledge that hundreds of Wilson's own are now serving their country in training camps, in army, in navy, in aviation, in defense work. The ever clicking needles and colorful yarn made the patio a perfect setting for this friendly gesture of good-will. The attractive sweaters varying in size from two to twelve were carefully made with a spirit of helpfulness. Up in Miss Larsen,s room flozens of children's blue dresses, soft pink and blue baby blankets and all kinds of children,s clothing were turned out by deft hands and machines. In classes, at activity periods, after school, in assemblies, at Christmas dinners and teas, Red Cross work went forward, the grand tapestry took concrete form for September draft swept dozens into the work to turn out more garments than any other school in the city. 20
