EXPLUIIEID them all. We heard planes humming overhead, the mer- ciless rat-tat-tat of riveters sealing griders, the irregular grind of great ma- chines. We saw the flawless precision at Fort McArthur, huge Streamliners soaring into the clouds, a vast new airport rising for Long Beach. Watching, snapping pictures, capturing ourtheme, we journeyed to Terminal Island: through fences we watched the Douglas aircraft factory, we talked to pilots, soldiers, gathering facts, camera studies, and fun!
