BOYS' VARSITY BASKETBALL I l . '-j-' 3 F -2-:sf . l x This year's Boys Varsity Basketball Team is a team to remember. The team improved a great deal since last year. Able to function as a cohe- sive unit, the team became a strong contender for the league championship. Because the coach and players all began the season with at least one season of varsity experience, the team was more ready than ever to win the championship. The team's lead scorer was captain Robert Marder. He directed the offense along with starting guard Raymond Aviles. Jeffrey Frankel and Barry Glickman led the strong defense, while leading rebounder David Hochberg and four year veteran starter David Cordero controlled the boards. Other team members added depth and gave support and assistance where needed. Marc Karyo and David Wind were strong rebounders who also added strength tothe offense. Newcomer Andy Jonas helped the team with strong defensive playing. Neil Rosenfeld and Mark Weiner handled the ball well, and usually got it to the big men, the result of which was usually a basket. Without a doubt, this years team will not be forgotten as a league record of well over 500 was achieved. This, in comparison with last years dismal total of 311 has greatly pleased coach Mark Goodman. 165
