Third Grade The first day draws mixed reactions as we are split into 3-B's and 3-A's. Mrs. Amder and Mrs. Benson never were the same: in fact, Mrs. Amder leaves us halfway through and Mrs. Marks joins in the fun. J.S. departs, but not before he leaves us a library. We all begin to make fun of C.A., and he never realizes it. We work on penmanship and to the delight of the teachers B.B., A.L. and L.T. write beautifully - L.G. and A.H. don't fair so well. L.A. breaks his collarbone three or four times. Fourth Grade Mrs. Cohen becomes Mrs. Weinberg and Mrs. Marks becomes Mrs. Dori. Every so often one of us forgets their name and calls them mommy. Spell- ing bees begin. So does Mrs. Dori's sixty-four question game and A.H. and G.L. battle it out until the last day when she wins. M.S. joins us for one year, and one year only. D.K. gets his first computer, throws a lavish birthday party Cnot to be surpassed until G.G.'s bar-mitzvahj and comes to school three or four times. S.M. begins to play with L.T.'s head. J.S. puts his fist through a win- dow and calls it quits. Fifth Grade We learn to love Mr. Dover as he teaches us our chosen science. Playground football comes into full swing as L.A. and S.M. show off their bucca- neer skills. D.K. begins to attend school fairly reg- ularly. Mr. Poles conducts a mock court and A.H. gets his first taste of defending a hopeless case. We begin to take courses with the sixth graders and they are forever sorry. Mr. Poles and Mrs. Hurwitz are informed in December that they won't be returning so she packs her bags and leaves at lunch. Mr. Goldstein soon takes her place in math and home economics and shows us why scope was invented. L.V., M.C., L.A., and D.Y. depart. David Y. shows us what a true ge- nius is as he explains computers.

V s-. Kindergarten Mrs. Horowitz introduces us to school life. Show and tell is the morning's event. Toys and dolls along with our first loose teeth are major topics of discussion. B.B. G Y.K. start at this point and are the only ones to finish out. P.S. goes through her first glass door. Rebellions against rest hour occur daily. Spot and Jane appear in our first and favor- ite books. First Grade Who ever thought that only a handful would survive. Mrs. Kleiman and Mrs. Gold do their best to put up with wacky kids. J.W. makes a cameo appearance before becoming the youngest ever to be 'asked to leave'. D.W. shows us what real speed is on scooters and the football field. Mr. Contemanolis teaches us dodgeball when Mr. Breene is absent. Bowling parties begin as pin the tail on the donkey becomes a game for little kids. Second Grade Mrs. Garson divides us into advanced and normal groups for math and reading. R.R. puts tacks on S.M.'s chair as we all pretend we don't know who did it. The race begins . . . who shall finish S.R.A. first - A.L. joins us and wins easily. G.G. scares us when he burns his leg and Robert Reell scares us even more with his breath. J.B. defects from Brandeis to join us. Audrey S. begins her kissing chase as all the boys evade. Kickball and rope climbs are in style as L.A., S.M., and G.B. prove their athletic prowess.

Sixth Grade Our first taste of being seniors and we remember how it felt to be the little kids. Sixteen of us make it and have the smallest graduation parties in history. Y.K 6 A.H. begin their feud and invite everyone but each other to their parties Cthey finally give in and let the other come. thoughj. We finally get to pass the lamp of learning. S.M. continues to play with L.T.'s mind as he pretends not to want to go to her party. We bid farewell to Mr. Dover and Mrs. Umans. G.G. and G.L. lead the Parrots to victory at field day as S.M. and G.B. almost cry on the field. Kissing games become our favorite pastime. A few of us try our hand at teaching and hate it. A few of us are sad to bid farewell to the lower school. Barbara Barth wins the Margie Boas award and Alison Leigh is granted an award for her poise, charm, dignity. and brilliance. Both awards are well deserved. We graduate singing Mahogany and head to the beach to celebrate. Seventh Grade We enter the middle school while it is still a Jr. high. C.S.. S.S., S.H., A.J., S.A., P.A., M.B., N.M., W.C., D.C., G.G.. T.P.. G.R., and J.R.join us. Many girls swoon at their first sight of AJ., and N.M. imagines that all the boys feel the same way about her Cremember this: hi fans D. We all take the Ann Landers maturity test and lie about our scores - none of us were wild and wooly at thirteen. Bar-Mitzvahs begin as we all try our first mixed drinks. J.B. and N.M. form a couple. 6.6. and J.B. begin to fall in love. We learn to love the ancient mariner and to hate Mrs. Marcy. A.H. teaches us how not to be class president. 124
