Vida Hammond Prop hetess Class Prophecy At last my busy day as a homemaker and mother is coming to a close. I’ve put the children to bed and I’m free to relax and watch a television program before retiring myself. To my surprise the announcer, Howard Martin, says the program tonight will be a survey of the class of '54 of Woodleaf High School. First, 1 see Marvin McDaniel, a famous scientist, dictating his discovery of a new drug to his efficient secretary, Joy Brown. She records this letter and sends a copy to a doctor in Charlotte, whose nurse is Mildred Foster. After telephone operator, Doris Beck, clears the line, Miss Foster gets a call through to Jerlean Murph, the X-ray technician at a near-by hos- pital. Her secretary is Elizabeth Collins. The next scene shows Mrs. Betty Gregory and Mrs. Lorene Coates talking with teacher Barbara Plummer about the grades of their children. As they finish talking Mr. Harrill’s secretary, Peggy Sheets, comes to tell Miss Plummer that she is wanted on the phone. It is Doris Donahue calling to say that her child has a cold. Now I see Jack Weant, president of a large clothing store, boarding a plane for New York, The airplane stewardess is Mary Lynn Painter. With Mr. Weant is his secretary, Mae Webb, and they’re going to a fashion show of new styles for women. Modeling the new creations is Wilma Safley. The next scene shows Bill McCulloh and Bob Waller talking as they look over the cattle on Bob’s ranch. Bill is giving him the estimate of the cost of plumbing for his new ranch house. They are interrupted by one of Bob’s foremen, Bill Motley, who comes to report on the day's happenings. The scene shifts and there is County Forest Warden, Mickey Raney, lecturing to a group of 4-H boys on setting out pine trees. County Home Demonstration Agent, Patricia Benson, is giving the girls a few points on how to dress well. © A very interesting view is that of Lewis Lineberger, civil engineer, telling his secretary, Juanita Doss, of some new highway plans. An amusing picture is that of Thomas Snider and Troy Speas, diesel mechanics, working with Jackie Barbee’s transfer truck. The last picture is an interview with Katrina Murph, a missionary home on furlough, by Jerlean Snider, the Bible teacher of Woodleaf School, and Bill Lyerly, a local minister. The announcer says he’s sorry but the engineer, Leroy Burgess, reports technical diffi- culties; therefore, he will be unable to continue. But luckily, this didn’t happen until I had viewed my former classmates in their success. Prophetess Vida Hammond
