Chia eas When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road we're trudging seems all up hill When care is pressing us down a bit, We may rest, if we must, but we dare not quit. i Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, Lets not give up, though the pace seems slow, We might succeed with another blow. Often, as strugglers, we have given up, When we might have captured the victor's cup, But we learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close we were to the golden crown. We never can tell how close we are, Our goal may be near when it seems atar, Let's stick to the fight when were hardest hit, It's when things go wrong that we musn't quit. BETTY ANN OVERMAN, Poet
