I960 PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION The theme of the Wood lawn High Parent-Teacher Association this year is to lift the level of learning through better homes Shown in this picture arc: Mr. Ralph Martin. Treasurer. Mrs I C I-ong, 1st Vice-President. Mr M A Morris. President, and Mrs I H Daton. Secretary Tlie membership has increased to nine hundred, with Mrs Cherry Foster as the Membership Chairman Other officers arc: Mrs Chris Nichols, 2nd Vice-President and Program Chairman; Mrs Preut Holland. 3rd Vice-President; Mrs. Laura Franklin. Assistant Treasurer; Mrs. W. I: Dawson. Advisor; Mrs. Pratt Busby, Parliamentarian: Mr D. ( Logan, Finance Chairman. LUNCHROOM PERSONNEL Mrs. Matticrcc Jones, our lunchroom manager, and her assistant. Mrs Marguerite Lancaster, order food, plan the menus, and supervise the cooking of our meals. Mrs. Fann C. Blackburn is the cashier at the snack bar Mrs. Inc . McNeal and Mrs. Lillian Johnson are cashiers also. There are eleven colored helpers in the lunchroom. NURSE CUSTODIAN When two bells ring at any time during the day, Mr. John G Tanner is being called to straight-ep out some detail in the management of our five buildings. He has ten people to assist him in his work. Mr. Tanner is responsible for opening the building each morning and locking it in the afternoons Mrs. Neville Tucker is employed hy the Red Cross and the Board of Education to teach Home Nursing to the seven city high schools Mrs Tucker is a registered nurse at West End Baptist Hospital. She studied for three and a half years at Peabody College and at the University of Alabama Q

B.A.. Northwestern University. M.A. The responsibility of each department head is to plan and supervise the work, and arrange the schedule for each teacher in his department. The department heads work to establish good, hard-working classes which will benefit all students. Accelerated classes have been organized in the math. English, history, and science departments for the more gifted students. There are also classes in science and math which are not college prep. Mrs. Bates.
