iron MR RALPH MARTIN PRINCIPAL Knowledge and understanding are the primary requisites for leadership. Mr. Ralph Martin understands Woodlawn from the level of the lowliest freshman to the most respected member of the faculty. His knowledge of Wood-lawn has enabled him to give equal consideration to all departments and to provide leadership necessary for the betterment of our school. OFFICE STAFF Taking Mr. Martin's dictation, cutting the morning report , recording the icmi-annual registration, along with other general office dutiet, keep Mr . Knapp, our Secretary to the Principal, hard at work. Mr. William Bancroft, our new boy ' advitor. hat already won the admiration of many student even though he ha been boy ' advitor only since January of this year He is eager to help boy with their problem concerning tchool work, a well at with extracurricular adivitie . He welcome boy to come and discuss future plan for college and other activities following graduation. P.T.A. 1959 The Woodlawn Parent-Teacher Association enables the parents to be an integral part of school life and aquaints them with the problems which confront teenagers during this phase of their lives. Woodlawn's P.T.A. is one of the largest in the state. Our officers this year are President, Mrs. Pratt Busby, First Vice-President, Mr. Gerald Smith, Second Vice-President, Mrs. Forrest little, Third Vice-President, Mr. M. A. Morris, Secretary, Mrs. Richard Horn, Treasurer, Mr. Ralph Martin, Assistant Treasurer, Mrs. Laura Franklin. LUNCHROOM MANAGERS In order that we may have balanced meals, a variety of foods is prepared by our lunchroom manager. Mrs. Mattieree Jones. Her assistants are Mrs. Marguerite Lancaster, the cashier, Mrs. Fann C. Blackburn, Mrs. Inez McNeal, Mrs. Lillian Johnson-the last three pictured below. She has fifty student helpers and twelve colored maids, who labor long and hard at this task. CUSTODIAN Whether it is a minor or a major task, Mr. John G. Tanner, our new custodian, is always on the job. At any time of the day the bell signal can be heard summoning him to straighten out some detail in the management of the buildings. There are 7 maids and 3 men to give him able assistance in the maintenance of 5 buildings and in the regulation of heat and ventilation.
