Hail, dear old Woodlawn High, noble and strong, To thee with loyal hearts we raise our song; Swelling to heav'n aloud, our praises ring; Hail, dear old Woodlawn High, to thee we sing. Majesty as a crown rests on thy brow. Pride, Honor, Glory, Love before thee bow; Ne’er can thy spirit die, thy walls decay; Hail, dear old Woodlawn High, for thee we pray. Hail, dear old Woodlawn High, guide of our youth, Lead thou thy children on to light and truth; Thee, when Death summons us, others shall praise; Hail, Alma Mater dear, through endless days. Bates Advisor 3 'P ieuHVitt The Woodlog Staff proudly presents to you this 1955- 56 edition of our high school annual. In years to come, when you have sailed perhaps far away from dear old Woodlawn High School, we hope that with this Woodlog you will he able to peer hack through the portholes of memory and relive the happy moments of your cruise on the good ship WOODLAWN. Bon voyage! “The Crew 6 0 MU As an expression of our appreciation for his unceasing efforts to keep us on our course, we, the Senior Class of the good ship Wood lawn, dedicate this 1956 Log of our voyages to Mr. C. E. Brown, our Advisor, guide, and friend. 7 MR. RALPH A. MARTIN Principal Wood lawn High School THE SKIPPER’S MESSAGE TO THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 1956 You. the graduating class of 1956. have presented this newly designed Woodlog as a voyage at sea. This brings to me memories of you who have made and are making the journey on the sea of life. May we think of our school as a great boat factory. Our production consists of selecting the finest materials (young men and women) and through careful guidance and instruction prepare them for this voyage on the sea of life. We are producing sturdy surf boards, pleasure or fishing boats, luxurious passenger liners, cargo or freight boats, and speedy, mighty vessels of war. Each l oat. or each of you. plays an all-important part in this life’s voyage. That part affects the boat factory, yourself, your family, and our country. As a parting thought, remember that, regardless of the construe tural material, your future success can never be attained without your selecting God as your Pilot and letting Him guide and direct your voyage and your life. Good luck, much success, and may God direct and guide you in your life’s voyage. Oust 'Tfat t Chief Purser. MRS. FRANK IJN, keeps our oceans of money in tow. Chief Petty Officer. MRS.
