Clfeminiscences In the fall of the year of 1929 four girls, Glorya Taylor, Grayce Aue, Evelyn Miller and Emma Hutka entered into our last years of High School, the senior class. We all promised to endeavor to make this year the most outstanding and memorable of all our years. We were very earnest in trying to preserve our dignity, although at some intervals we almost lost complete control of it. During the year we were kept very busy planning and giving card parties and dances. Due to the wonderful cooperation of our principal and the support of the citizens of Woodlawn all of our parties proved very successful. The candy that we had sold throughout the year aided greatly in increasing our finances. During the senior year we attended many school dances and enjoyed ourselves immensely at every dance. Soon after the Christmas holidays we expressed to Mr. Beam our desire to start our senior play. With his consent we immediately sent for books. The characters were selected and then the endless training began. Our efforts were not futile, however, for our dramatization was a great success. Soon after the play was given, we began our incessant planning for the trip to Washington. Before we had time to realize the coming date, it occurred to us that we had but a week left in which to get prepared. We finally succeeded in packing and the morning for our departure came at last. The details of the trip will be given by some other member of the class. The Washington trip is one event for which all future seniors will certainly look forward to with great expectations. It is one trip which will never be forgotten. I warn the seniors of next year to preserve their dignity while they are on this trip. For if you do not your picture will be sure to be snapped by Mr. Beam and then placed on exhibition as ours were. There are schools that fill our hearts with happiness, As all our schools ought to do. , Even though we have to leave our classmates, Yet, that's no real reason to feel blue.
