HOT SPOTS In pursuit of good times on the weekends and in trying to make it through the week, the students of Woodlawn have made many places their hot spots”. The freshmen, unable to cruise in a car, get mom to drop them off at McDonalds and then carry house keys around to make the upperclassmen think they have their licenses. The sophomores usually all pile into one car and cruise around all night, just excited that they get to drive. When students become upperclassmen, they start to loosen up a little and learn about wildlife”. Sometimes the outdoors get a little out of hand and students find themselves at Klempeter Sub Station. Even though every weekend isn’t filled with excitement, students always seem to find SOMETHING to do!

OF 1986-1987 Michelle Grumbles. Dr. Kyle Kennedy. DOS Sheila Cone. Family Debt Counselors Sarah Wharton. Audubon Amco. Ins. Co. A scandal, sometimes compared to Nixon's Watergate scandal, broke out in the United States in 1986, involving the sale of arms to Iran in return for hostages from Lebanon. To make matters worse, the money made from the sales was later discovered to have been sent to aid the Contras. Many top United States officials were questioned before Congress. Daytime soap operas were interrupted to televise the Congressional hearings. Soap operas have not been interrupted for such a purpose since the Watergate scandal. ACROSS THE STATE ... In November. Louisiana’s voters had to choose their United States senator. From the run-off election featuring John Breaux and Henson Moore, the voters chose Breaux. The election of John Breaux, a Democrat, helped the Democrats to gain control of the United States Senate. Louisiana's Governor Edwin Edwards proposed the idea of a lottery to save Louisiana’s plunging economy. The Legislature, however, refused to pass the bill. They plan instead to cut dollars from the budgets governing health and education and to charge tolls for people traveling across state bridges.
