ADOPTIONS Woodlawn High School has been adopted two times during this 86-87 school year and one time in the past. We were first adopted by Louisiana National Bank. That was four years ago. Since then, they have purchased honor pins, honor jackets for students who make all A’s, and chevrons for two year straight A students. This year’s adopters are Lutheran Church of Our Saviour and the International Technical Institute. The Lutheran Church is offering us tutoring in math courses on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the church. We were adopted on December 2, 1986 by the Lutheran Church. Since then, students have been regularly attending the tutoring classes and pulling up their grades. The third to adopt us was the International Technical Institute. They adopted us on February 12,1987. The Institute plans to hold a financial seminar for college education for the seniors and their parents. They also plan to provide scholarships for deserving seniors. Woodlawn, in turn, was an adopter. We adopted Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Communication has been established between this school and the nursing home so that both the young people and the older ones can share experiences. 30
