VETERANS’ DAY PROGRAM Veterans’ Day was commemorated on November 11, 1986, and was sponsored by SGA. Veterans honored were Mr. Paul Loup, Mr. Ellis Gauthier, Mr. Jim Talbot, Coach James McCall, Dr. Raymond Arve-son, Col. Robert Cook, Sgt. Maj. Roy Vick, Sgt. Maj. Little, two World War I veterans from Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and parents of seniors who served in the armed forces. Honored guests were pinned with red carnations. The ROTC turned out in force to honor these veterans. 28

PUTTIN’ ON THE HITS Candy Davis, Randy Oils Gilligans Crew lisa Dyer. John Simoneaux Kelly Landry. Scott Seal Roger Burney Guitarzan Puttin’ On The Hits was sponsored by Show Choir. It was a contest between students trying to lip-synk their favorite songs. Guest MC was Pat Shingleton from Channel 2. The judges were Jim Nasium from WFMF, Iceman from WXOK, and Mike Smith, student here at WHS. They judged the contestants on creativity, costumes, and lip-synking. There was a tie for first place between Candy Davis and Randy Otts, singing “You’re The One That I Want”, and John Simoneaux. Lisa Dyer, and Jim Walsh, singing Your Emotional Rescue. These winners split a $75 prize.

HONOR ROLL PROGRAM A program was held to honor those students who made either all A’s or all A's and B's for the fall semester of 1986-87. Congratulations to those 98 students who achieved these high standards. The ROTC Color Guard began the program. Entertainment was provided by Candy Davis. Guest speaker was Mr. John Roberts who encouraged all students to set high personal standards and to reach out a helping hand to fellow human beings. 29
