Pantherettes Heather Turney, Elena Perez, and Stacey Hoffman, who are dressed as dolls, enjoy eating baby food during lunch. Mike Yawn is enjoying his day as a new member in the Key Club. The Varsity Cheerleaders are getting ready to participate in the Homecoming Parade and the pep rally Thursday night. 7

HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES Many students participated in the activities planned for Homecoming Week. Monday was Rambo Oay, and everybody wore their camouflage attire. Tuesday students found their twin and dressed alike during Twin Day. Wednesday was Fifties Day. and everyone rolled up their jeans and wore bobby socks and poodle skirts. Thursday, students went Mad For Plaid, with the exception of Key Clubbers and J.V. and Varsity Cheerleaders, Pantherettes, and Boosters. For these organizations, new members participated in Iniation Day. Key Clubbers wore their clothes backwards and had shower caps on their heads. They carried fly swatters to keep the girls away. J. V. Cheerleaders dressed UGLY and carried lunch pails. The Varsity Squad wore highlighter caps, no make up and Taco Bell pants. Pantherettes dressed as toy dolls and ate baby food during lunch. Boosters made themselves up half way and wore bath robes. Thursday night, a Homecoming Pep Rally and Parade were held. The turn out was tremendous, and the spirit shook the stadium, as every auxiliary group performed. Friday, students wore purple and white on Purple and White Day. Everyone packed picnic lunches or participated in the special cafeteria take out program to join a huge picnic on the grounds by the gym. . 6

STUDENTS ENTER THE ADVENTURE OF TEACHING This year the Spanish three class is taking over the Big Buddy Program, by going to Cedarcrest Elementary. The students teach the second graders a foreign language every Thursday during fourth hour. The Spanish three students are divided into groups to teach the second graders basic Spanish, such as greetings, colors, numbers, and animals. At the end of each teaching period, everyone feels a sense of accomplishment and looks forward to going to teach again. Sandra Day. Mi Lee. and Janna McGill are instructing the students at Cedarcrest Elementary, A tutoring program sponsored by the Lutheran Church of Our Savior helps students in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry and Advanced Math. Members of the church who have good backgrounds in math help students at the Woodlawn Off Campus Learning Center on Tuesday and Thursday nights. National Honor Society members also volunteer time at the center. Ruth Hatele. NHS President, helps Dana Kimbrough with a geometry problem
