All the things that make up school - the academics, clubs, friends, honors, and cooperation give everyone at Woodlawn, students and faculty alike, the oppor- tunity to make many achievements in many ways. Just as many small colored threads make up a great tapestry, the numerous facets of our school life are all combined to make us better individuals. . . As no one thread alone can make tapestry beauti- , n c e s ' ement e great people. It takes all of our minute accomplish- ments together to make us better people. And it takes the achievements of the student body and fac- ulty to make Woodlawn High School a school we can take pride in. We come and we go, but we never take our school for granted. We have worked hard to make it what it is. EN TITLE PAGE INTRODUCTION CONTENTS DEDICATION ALMA MATER ADMINISTRATION FACULTY CLASSES SENIORS SENIOR SUPERLATIVES MR. -MISS WOODLAWN SENIOR CAMPUS SHOTS IUNIORS SOPHOMORES FRESHMEN JR. HIGH ELEMENTARY ADDITIONAL SCHOOL PERSONNEL ORGANIZATIONS FAVORITES ATHLETICS ACTIVITIES ADVERTISEMENTS T0 We, the graduating class of 1966 dedicate this annual to Mr. Harry L. Henson. Throughout his ten years of teaching at Wood- lawn High School, he has aspixed to stimulate and influence the students to seek a better place in society. In return, he has re- ceived a better insight of the minds of teenagers which he hopes will help him to raise his children. Mr. Henson's continuous efforts to gain knowledge have set an example- which we seniors hope to follow. In 1956 he received his Bachelor ot Science irom Southeastern Louisiana College, in 1960, his Masters of Education at Louisiana State University, and this summer will obtainhisMaster of Science from Louisiana State University. Mr. Henson is also a family man. He and his wife, Gerry, have been married twelve years and have three boys--Dwayne, Kevin, and Chris ages 9, 6, and 1 respectively. We thank you, Mr. Henson, for your guidance, encouragement, buoyant personality, and jovial disposition. These traits have helped to make our days at Woodlawn memorable. Working together we have achieved a great deal of success during this school year. This book, I think, will serve as a medium that will permit you to recall the many activities of Woodlawn High School for the 1965-66 session. As life lenghtens these activities will become a treasured memory. I congratulate the Echo Staff and the sponsor for a job well done. It is hoped that participation in the activities shown throughout the Annual have helped all of us to attain the goals of good citizenship so desired. Meaeafaa MR. GLEN A. DELAFIELD Principal Mr. Delafield is most at home with the students of Woodlawn. W. D. QUINN Assistant Principal The years hurry along and we in the administration are conscious of the growing demands upon our students. Every year the curriculum is expanded, and happily we find that Woodlawn students are eager to take advantage of the new opportunities. It is gratifying to review the records of our students in every phase of school life, both here at Woodlawn and in the world beyond. The future looks bright to us when we see the preparation for future useful citizenship among our own students. To our departing seniors, we wish for you the very best as you go forth to meet the challenges of life and to take your place in society. To the sponsor and staff of our yearbook, you are to be commended for another superb edition of the Echo. Al f 4 O 5 L44A,4,1 W. D. Ouifln I7 MR, A, B.
