Mr. Walker has been a member of the Woodlawn faculty for eleven years, and served as guidance counselor for seven. Mr. Wa1ker's duties include counseling with students, parents, and teachers, administration of a complete testing program and orientation of new students. Miss Peak has been secretary to the administration department for five years. She serves the entire faculty of Woodlawn as well as the administration division. MRS. PATRICIA PEAK. She finds the teaching of manners and character to young children the most rewarding part of her work. MRS. CAMMIE KELLEHER, First Grade Mrs. Kelleher has been teaching for 11 years, 7 of which have been at Woodlawn. Her husband, L. D. , and son, David, take up all of her free time. MRS. JET DURANT, Second Grade Mrs. Durant is starting her third year at Woodlawn. Her hobbies are music and playing with her pet dogs, Max and Torchie. MRS. STELLA EDWARDS. Second Grade Mrs. Edwards is starting her first year at Woodlawn. She is the mother of five children and finds working with little ones most rewarding. . MISS NORMA JANET LANE, Third Grade This year is Miss Lane's first year of teaching. Her summer will be spent on a tour of Europe. MRS. GLADYS WOMACK. Third Grade Mrs. Womack has been at Woodlawn for 16 years. This will be her last year with us due to her retirement. Her travels to various parts of the United States take up most of her free time. MISS BETSY KERNAN HALL, Sixth Grade Miss Hall is starting her first year at Woodlawn. Miss Hall en- joys reading, playing bridge, and cooking. MRS. KATHRYN MELKER, Sixth Grade Mrs. Melker has been at Woodlawn for 8 years. She enjoys music and is learning to play the piano. She is the mother of four children. MRS. MARY W. PARISH. Fourth Grade Mrs. Parish has spent 27 years in the field of teaching, 13 of which have been here at Woodlawn. Mrs. Parish says, My most rewarding part of teaching is the satisfaction I get when Isee the class really interested in our work. MRS. ELEANOR THOM ROBIN, Fourth Grade Mrs. Robin has been teaching 24 years, 14 of which have been here at Woodlawn. Mrs. Robin's son, Robbie, and her nephews occupy a great deal of her time. I-Ier love of all sports finds her attending all of Woodlawn's athletic events. MRS. ELVA M. CORNET, Fifth Grade Mrs. Cornet has been at Woodlawn for 11 years. She has an unusual collection of state dinner plates which heads the list of her special interests. Foremost in occupying her time are her three grandchildren. Dana, James, and Brenda. MRS. VIRGINIA M. ROLSTON, Fifth Grade Mrs. Rolston has been teaching at Woodlawn for 6 years. Her two daughters, Kathy and Ginger, occupy her free time. To- gether, they enjoy music, traveling, and reading. MRS. BETTY I. AUCOIN, Speech and English Mrs. Betty Aucoin has been teaching at Woodlawn for the past 4 years. She has two children, Benton and Russell. Her hobbies are designing Christmas cards and birth announcements Mrs. Aucoin is also interested in the local Little Theater. MR. ROBERT BARRETT, Physical Education Mr. Barrett has been at Woodlawn for 6 years. He has five children. His hobby is hunting. Coaching is the phase of his work which he finds most rewarding. MR. LEO T. BOSSIER. Mathematics, Head Football Coach Mr. Bossier has been in the teaching profession for 17 years. Mr. Bossier enjoys hunting and sports of all kinds. His family of four boys and one girl takes up most of his free time. MRS. EDWINA B. BROWN, English Mrs. Brown has been teaching for 16 years, 10 here at Wood- lawn. She enjoys music and traveling. Mrs. Brown has two sons, Dickie and Edwin, who attend L. S. U. MR. DAVID R. COOPER, Mathematics Mr. Cooper has been teaching 18 years, 3 of which have been at Woodlawn. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and working with his coin collection. MRS. GRACE H. CRAIG, Librarian Mrs. Craig has been teaching for 12 years, 10 here at Wood- lawn. She enjoys working with young people. Mrs. Craig has one son, Bobby Jr. MR. PERRY I. DUGAS, Social Studies Mr. Dugas holds a Master of Education degree and has been teaching for 13 years. He enjoys traveling with his wife and daughter. MISS LYNETTE FERRELL, English This is Miss Ferrellfs first year at Woodlawn. She attended the University of Miami. Miss Ferrell's favorite hobbies are water skiing, piano, and progressive jazz. MR. ELLIS J. GAUTHIER, Industrial Arts, Driver Ed. Mr. Gauthier received both his B. S. and M.S. degrees from L. S. U. He is in his second year of teaching at Woodlawn. Most of his outside interests center around hunting, fishing and Dixieland jazz. MR. NORRIS ELWOOD HAMMONDS, Science Mr. Harnrnonds has been teaching science and physics at Woodlawn for two years. He received his M. E. degree from L. S. U. Mr. Hammond's four children keep him quite busy, but he still finds time for swimming, fishing, and golf. MRS. BOBBYE JEWEL HEARD, Social Studies Mrs. Heard is in her thirteenth year of teaching. This will be her second at Woodlawn. She received her M. E. from L. S. U. Mrs. Heard enjoys gardening of all kinds. MRS. TI-IERESA A. HEMPHILL, Physical Education Mrs. Hemphill, a graduate of Woodlawn. has been teaching here for the past 9 years. Her hobbies include home movies, fishing, and playing with her 6 beagle hounds. MR. HARRY L. HENSON, Chemistry, Biology Mr. Henson has been on the Woodlawn faculty for seven years. He received his Master of Education degree from L. S. U. and spends his summers working on his M. S. degree. Mr. Henson has two sons, Duane and Kevin. MRS. IRMA MARTIN JOHNSON. Social Studies Mrs. Johnson has been at Woodlawn for 10 years. Her hobbies include reading and listening to all forms of music, even an occasional rock and roll selection. The most rewarding aspect of her teaching is being considered a friend by students MRS. EVA LOIS MASHON, Commerce Mrs. Mashon has been a teacher at Woodlawn for 3 years. She is a graduate of L. S. U. Mrs. Mashon enjoys all sports. especially football. She has one son, Mike. MR. HOMER C. MCGAUGH, Social Studies Mr. McGaugh has been teaching for 12 years, this is first at Woodlawn. His hobbies include fishing, and sports of all kinds. He enjoys listening to Dixieland jazz. He is cur- rently working on his M. E. degree at L. S. U. MRS. C. R. MCLELLAN, English, French Mrs. McLellan is the mother of six children and has been teaching at our school for 8 years. She earned her B. A. degree from Louisiana College in 1942. She is active in church work and enjoys reading, sewing and working on their farm. MR. JAMES ROLAND MILLER. JR. , Band Director Mr. Miller has been teaching at Woodlawn for 6 years. His hobby is playing jazz, and he has a special interest in the Baton Rouge Symphony. Mr. Miller enjoys working with our concert band. MRS. OGDEN B. ROMERO. Science MISS NORMA GAYLE MORGAN, Home Economics Miss Morgan has been at Woodlawn for two years. She enjoys dancing and sewing. Miss Morgan works with the Pantherettes and the Jazzettes and spends much time planning the chore- ography for half-time shows at the football games. MRS. JANICE PADEN PARIS, Mathematics, Science Mrs. Paris has been at Woodlawn for two years. She enjoys music of all kinds and loves to read. Her two daughters. Vicki and Susan, keep her real busy during most of her free time. Mrs. Romero teaches science to the eighth grade. She has three daughters. She received her B. S. degree from L. S. U and continues to pursue her studies there during .the summer months. MR. FRANCIS C. ST. BLANC, Industrial Art, Art Mr. St. Blanc has been teaching for 14 years, 9 of which have been at Woodlawn. Mr. St. Blanc has three children. He enjoys listening to music of the 40's and Dixieland jazz He received his B. S. and M.S. from L.S. U. MR. THOMAS B. TUCKER. Mathematics, Coach Mr. Tucker has been teaching school for 16 years. He en- joys fishing and coaching. His three sons, Tommy, Glenn, and Wayne, also share his interest in the field of sports. He received his B. A. degree from Southeastern and his M. E. from L. S. U. MR. CLARENCE H. WILLETT, IR. , Mathematics, Science Mr. Willett has been at Woodlawn for 8 years. He has a number of interests, many are boating, skiing, fishing and gardening. Mr Willett has two children, John Hunter and Louise Ann.
