the 993553 ' ' gn Mr. Delafield: This has been a wonderful year for our school and the Class of 1960. Our wishes have come true as we have watched the many new buildings go up around us. It has been inspiring to see the auditorium, the band and chorus rooms, the home economics cottage, the stadiu, the gymnasium, the library, and the modern classrooms develop. Together we have grown: the school in sizeg the seniors in knowledge and friends. Our school years have been happy ones and they wou1dn't have been the same without you. From the bottoms of our hearts we would like to thank you for your guidance, patience, and understanding. The Senior Class of 1960

Only a photograph of a building, you say? How mistaken you are! To an outsider, yes, this is just another building . . . but to the students of Wood- lawn High School it means much, much more. The friends made here, the achievements won, the disap- pointments suffered Cbut wisdom gainedj, and knowl- edge acquired here have made WHS a very special building. It would be hard to forget the crowded halls . . . the hours wasted during study hall . . . the admis- sion slips . . . the excitement of a close game Y. . . the hall passes . . . the bumpy bus rides . . . cram- ming for tests . . . the discussions in classes . . . the lunch line . . . club days . . . seeing our new build- ings for the first time . . . the mad scramble for the doors . . . late Mondays . . . And so, here is your book, the 1960 Echo, which we, the annual staff, give to you that you will never forget this past year in wonderful ole WHS.
