VIEWS OF WOODLAND Offices of the superintendent and high school principal, along with classrooms and separating hallway, are seen from the patio. The main building of Woodland School nestles between Bollinger County hills. This view of the home of grades 3 through 12 is from a hill south of the building. Looking from the patio between wings of the building, the photographer re- corded the spacious and light library in which every high school student spends many study hours.

MR. CLAUDE STONE THE SUPERINTENDENT SPEAKS Greetings to the Cardinal staff, and congratulations for another fine yearbook. We know how much work, how much care and anxiety must go into the publication of the Cardinal. That is why we take this opportunity to commend the editor, Paula Conklin, the entire staff and the new advisor, Mrs. Lerret, for a job well done. Greetings also to the faculty and pupils of the Woodland Schools. Because we have appreciated so much the opportunity to work with you these four years and to have a part in providing our fine new building and equipment, we cannot help but express a feeling of deep regret that our pleasant relationship as it now. stands must end. They say all good things must come to an end, however, and it seems best for a number of reasons for me to step down as head of the Woodland School system, to let someone else, perhaps someone younger and more energetic, take up the work and press on for continued growth and improvement, with particular reference to a new gym and vocational agriculture shop on the new school campus. May the realization of this goal soon come!
