Donald L. Lax. jBedtcaium We, the 1962-63 Cardinal Staff, wish to dedi- cate this issue of the Cardinal to a teacher who has been with us only a few years, but who has already done a great deal for this school and the community. He has devoted much of his spare time to furthering the education of stu- dents at Woodland High. Ingratitude, we dedicate this 1963 Cardinal to our Industrial Arts Instructor, Mr. Donald Lax.

A closer cooperation with all grades should be possible, and a better coverage of all school activ- ities should be effected. It is our hope, also, that all groups represented in the Cardinal will take a more personal interest in future issues, and will contribute their share to the improvement of this annual publication.

Featured for the last time in our Cardinal, this building has withstood the ravages of time and the rushing steps of many high school students. Still under construction, the new plant now houses the upper elementary grades in one wing, but will be occupied in the fall of 1963 by all grades above the first two if it is completed on schedule. The Junior High Building has had part of its space devoted to the Home Economics Department in addition to providing classrooms for junior high classes. It has also housed the school's administrative offices.
