Hundreds of students have gone out from this school to take their places in colleges and vocations. The records of achievement which they have left behind, and the measures of success which have come to them, indicate that our school was and is an institution of learning of which our community can be proud. And as to these - the students of Woodland High, not only for 1960 but for yesterday and today; to every student who has played the game, in the stands, on the field, or in the gym; to every student who has studied in the library, who has performed on the stage, who has walked up the steps and into the building, who has ridden the-buses, and attended Woodland High School - this, the 1960 Cardinal is dedicated. - - 1960 Cardinal Staff 'T'teta School “PC z tt AGRICULTURE BUILDING Happiness is a goal that can best be attained and maintained on a daily basis. The advice Solomon of old gave to his generation as a prescription to hap- piness is still just as effective in today's modern soci- ety, Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchan- dise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: ahd happy is every one that retaineth her. Thomas E. Smith Scifi UtctetuCeHt 7 te ui e T xutccfrcil'd 0?%44 Ciye I am honored with this opportunity of writing the first principal's mes- sage in this year's Cardinal. I wish to express my thanks to all the students and teachers with whom I have worked these past five years, for your patience, encouragement and cooperation that have been shown. We have had our ups and downs. But thank God most of them have been ups. We have a good school because you the students have helped make it so. Do not give up hope that our facilities will be improved. Harold Ralph Good luck to each and every one of you. Left to right: George Barker, President; Fred V. Ricketts, Thurman Propst, Bryce Fisher, H. C. Linville, Vice President; Alfred N. Winchester. Other members not present: Thomas E. His last day at school was like any other; So no one suspected, there wouldn’t be another. The eighth grade class he left behind; to meet his maker, in heaven on high. His death was a shock for all to hear; but just remember, that God was near. He was needed in heaven with angels above; And he was taken away, through God's Holy Love. 6 4 FIRST ROW: Bollinger, B., Crader, J., Crites, L., Eaker, R., Edwards, J., Elledge, S., Fah- renkrog, J., Francis, M., Hahs, R., Hopkins, M.
