Cindy Ciroeger and Tom Cosgrove presented the king and two senior attendants of the 1978 Homecoming, Dan Ferguson, Loretta Cosgrove and Shelly Romsos. Senior attendants were Leigh Carpenter escorted by Ron McKinney and Beth Wolfe escorted by john Zilla, junior attendant Maria Strong escorted by Gil Braun, and sophomore attendant Theres Walker escorted by Brett Albert. The mini floats were wheeled through the gym and then judged. Science club took first place Barium in Defeat , art club second place and the senior class third place. Introduction of the cross country, football, gymnastic and volleyball teams followed along with the presentation of the awards: a cross country shoe, football, leotard and a volleyball. Then the cheerleaders led the audience out to the baseball field where the Victory V was burned. On Oct. 6 the main event of Homecoming was the Woodland Park vs Buena Vista football game. The marching band under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lanyon performed at half-time. The mini floats were again presented, and the queen and her king took their place in a horse and buggy. The attendants followed. The last event of the day was the Homecoming dance, which was held in the junior high commons from 8pm to midnight. The band Bullseye con- tributed to the fun filled evening.
