SS WILL GU' We the class of 1948, in thetown of Woodland, the county of Northampton, and the state of North Carolina, being in as good mental condition as ' usual, and in much better temper than usual, do hereby make this, our last will and testament, rendering void and of no avail any former will or wills that may have been previously made by us during a period of temporary optimism. V In this manner do we dispose of our possessions: Item! To the Junior class, our rightful heirs, we bequeath our most important and valuable properties including any and all left over writing equipment, all Senior rights and privileges, and any unfinished business including debts. We also leave them our good luck, well-known nerve, and all the examination questions that we have been given during the past year. Item: We leave our patience to CHI good friends, the Sophomore class. It will be found useful as the only means by which they can endure the Juniors. ' Item: To the young and unsophisticated Freshmen we leave a map of the school so that they will not get lost and roam about in everybody's way looking for their classrooms. Also we leave our booklet on 'Getting Along With Your Teachers'. Item! To our school, principal, and teachers, we hereby give, free from taxes, our entire store of knowledge that others may be benefited by it as we have been. To them, also, do we bequeath our sense of humor, our kindssg regards, and our sincere gratitude for their unfailing kindness and ai . The smaller individual bequests are as follows: Item! Betty Jane Beale leaves her flowing tressss to Olivia Byrd so that she can toss her curls as ooyly and successfully as did Betty Jane. Item: To June Morris, Ruby Brickle wills her quiet disposition. Item: Hollis Bridgers gladly leaves her demurs and ever-ready blush to Marjorie Jenkins with the hope that it will serve Marjorie well in her high school career. - Item! Upon special request, Jesse Bryant has agreed to will his way with the ladies to John D. Snipes. Item: Wishing to share a grand opportunity, Richard Burkette bequsathe his ability to sleep on class and still make good grades to Donald Sumner a future prospect. . He is filling his orders for customers in woodland before he leaves for Raleigh.
