POEM 4 NEver Onwardn The closing chapter of our high school days Is drawing nearer, the calendar says. we boast and chatter and say we're glad, But the truth in our hearts reveals we're sad. There's just a feeling that's hard to explain To think that we'll never be together again, To think that each one will go his way To cope with the reality of another day. These twelve years have quickly passed. We're ready to start on our own at last, To strive with effort to reach that goal, Fulfilling the dreams of each ambitious soul. It is our purpose, our hope, and our aim Always to keep America's democracy the sameg To serve with ardent zeal the present age, And thus strive to deserve our hertiage.
