The Beavers, who captured the Northern Division Championship last year, are out repeat again this year. At present thirty boys are turning out. jerry Hiester, pitcher, :nry Turpin, catcherg Jack Griffith, shortstop, and Keith Walbridge, first base, -re regulars on last year's team. As the Wocowa goes to press the Beavers stack up as the team to beat for the Jrthern Division title. They have beaten the Kelso Highlanders two out of three mes. This is an accomplishment in itself. The pitching staff has looked good and : fielding seems to get better each game. Although the team is weak on batting, still scores its share of runs. Only one league game has been played. 1. The Freshman G. A. A. girls are shown here doing one of the tumbling stunts which they presented to the student body in an assembly in the spring. 2. The Freshmen put up a splendid fight against the seasoned Seniors in the inter- class basketball games. They finally lost, but only by a small margin. 3. Several Woodland students visited Vanport this year and played a basketball game. The game was a victory for Wfoodland and they made many new friends. 4. The Vanport girls' drill team performed for the visitors. 5. The Freshman girls' basketball tea.m poses with Miss Smith officiating. 6. Ref. Parker and spectators at the interclass games.
