At the end of the football season they elected a football queen. Shirley Thomas was elected and she was presented with a corsage. This elec- tion may become a tradition at Woodlanri High. The Lettermen initiation was held at the home game with LaCenter. To build up the treasury, ice cream slices were sold 'at basketball games. They also sponsored one of the Booster Dances, which was a big success. Girls' Athletic Association Being the only Lettergirl in Senior High this year, Mae Davis was chosen presi- dent of GAA. The GAA's activities were volleyball, basketball, and softball. The volleyball team this year consisted of eight members: Mae Davis, Patsy Clark, june Wills, Donna Robbins, Geraldine Frazier, Gwen Hummels, Lucille 'l'urpin, and Eva Clemens. Substitutes were Phyllis Nevil and Florestine Simonis. The Girls' Athletic Association sponsored the first Booster Dance of the year.

The traditional St. Patrick's day Tolo Dance was held on March 14, and many couples danced to the Winlock High School Band, in the beautifully decorated audi- torium. The last event of the year's activities was the annual Mother-Daughter Tea, at which the girls honored their mothers. The Girls' League made great progress this year in raising the standards of the girls in the school and in helping to clean up the building.
