As you have probably read in the latest All-American reports, several of our athlete graduates have made names for themselves in the sports world, I understand that Dave McBride, an All-American, has decided to sign a profes- sional contract with the New York Giants football team, Butch Pastirik, another one of our All-Americans by unanimous selection, has decided to play baseball for the Boston Red Sox. Also, Ed Grant recently signed a contract with the Minneapolis Lakers basketball team, Last month, I was a visitor to the Chicago area and had the misfortune to be involved in a slight auto accident, My misfortune, however, led me to a visit with Bonnie Chismar, Sue Paton, and Kathy Warfield who are now Reg- istered Nurses at St, Luke's hospital in Chicago. I understand, and from a very reliable source, that Bill Elliott is now the manager of the National Tea Food store in Sueator, Also, Roger Wilhelm is now the manager of the General Telephone Company of Illinois. Several of our boys departed to serve their good old Uncle Sam after graduation. Word has it that Gene Pastirik is making the navy his career and will soon take over as commander of one of the new atomic submarines, John Stansbury's plans were to join the army and avoid women, but word from Alice leaves one to believe that Gert had something to say about John's avoiding women, Tom Centko, who now owns his own construction company in Streator, has just finished the construction of a new gas station for Ken North, It seems that Ken has quite a chain of gas stations situated in the state of Illinois, Jim Pshak seems to have surpassed his ambition of becoming a bookkeeper, for now he is a Certified Public Accountant and audits many books for the large industrial plants, Rich Renner seems to have a permanent position at the University of Illinois. Rich was an excellent student while attending the universityg and university officials begged him to stay on as a professor. Sandra Brown is now one of the more prominent teachers in the eastern part of the United States. In a recent letter from Sandra, she informed me that Dave Graham is now the minister of the Park Methodist Church in New York City. Whether you know it or not, some of the new designs in the current General Motors cars were accomplished by Jim Dovin, who is now an expert engineer in Detroit, Well, Mr. Pierce, I guess that about does it, I hope you found my letter interestingg as trying to keep track of 37 graduates can sometimes present a big problem. Sincerely yours. Beverly Decker

1369 Shady Lane Anytown, Califomia Dear Mr. Pierce: It has been so long since I have written to you, I thought you might like to know what some of the 1958 graduates are doing. I still have my job in Allen Anderson's clinic. Allen is doing very well and plans to take a trip around the world in the near future. Last week I went to Bev Lehman's Beauty Parlor and, much to my surprise I found that Jane Kelm. Joyce Cashmer, and Mary Lee Miller had just started working for her. ln talking with the girls, I found that all four have done work for some of the more prominent movie stars in Hollywood. Ted Miller dropped by the other day and I found that he is still trying to catch up with some of his classmates. I wished him the best of luck, but you know Tedl I don't know whether you saw it or not, but in the latest issue of the Saturday Evening Post there is a very interesting article about Llona Hallam. Llona is a very successful policewoman in Washington, D. C, and has received many citations for her work. Yesterday during my lunch hour I took my car to the local garage for repairs and much to my surprise I' found Dick Decker was the chief mechanic. He informed me that he recently received word from Vernon Derossett who is now a mechanic at Gould Motor Company in Streator. Carl Jenkins was a recent visitor to our fair city and I had quite a long talk with him, It seems he and Dave McDonald have gone into partnership and own a 5, 000 acre ranch in Texas. The boys are in the cattle business and sell most of their beef to the Armour and Swift Packing Companies. Last Sunday I visited the airport to watch the many planes take-off and land. I was rather shocked to see Janet Hinkelman and Marilyn Senko step off one of the TWA passenger planes, I caught the girls' attention and found they had been out of school for only four short months and have already flown around the world six times. Many of our graduatm are now secretaries in the Streator area - way back in your state of Illinois. As you would probably guess, I keep in close touch with Alice Hanusik who is now the boss's private secretary at Timco's. Alice informs me that Mary Antolik is working as a secretary for an advertising firm in Chicagog Janet Renn, has fulfilled her ambition of becoming head stenographer at Owens-Illinois Glass Company and Carole Hjerpe is a secretary in the state's attorney's office in Ottawa. Say, did you see that article on the President of the United States in last week's Look magazine. I don't know whether you noticed it or not, but there was a picture of the President's personal staff and back in the right comer of the picture was our Vemon Pouk. It seems he has come a long way since attending barber school in Peoria.
