The valedicrorion and salurororion for rhe class of 1982 were Aniro Huff and Sherri Vogrmon respecrively. Cirizenship Awards were presenred by rhe foculry and adminisrrarion ro Sen- iors Dorry Ehle and Wando Hadley. Nor- mally only one cirizenship award is pre- senred ro a member of rhe groduaring class, bur becouse rhere were so many oursronding young men and women in rhe class of 1982, ir wos decided ro pre- senr rwo awards. Treva Srurzmon re- ceived rhe DAR Good Cirizenship Award which is bosed on dependabiliry, service, leadership, and porriorism. Recognirion was also given ro excellenr srudenrs who orrended seminars and received scholar- ships: Juniors Joner Gevers and Kenr Hoff- men received rhe I Dore You award for oursronding leadership, Janer Gevers olso wenr wirh Mirch Armbrusrer for rhe Symposium For Tomorrow ' s Leaders where Senoror Richard Lugar was rhe speoker. Sophomore Sondy Wilder or- rended rhe Indiono Yourh Foundorion and Senior Jeff McKinley orrended rhe Unired Srares Senore Yourh Progrom sponsored by rhe Deparrmenr of Public Insrrucrion. Senior Srocy Combs spenr a week in Woshingron D.C. for rhe Fourrh Disrricr Congressional Srudenr Program sponsored by Congressman Don Coars. A special recognirion award was given ro Ann-Louise Svensson, exchange sru- denr from Sweden, for her conrriburion ro rhis school and for being in so many ocriviries. In rhe area of perfecr orren- donce Senior Mike Szojno received on award of rhree and a half years while Mike Gruber and Kevin Shull received awards of rhree years. Three seniors who excelled in sporrs and received Sen- ior Varrior blonkers were Devin Ander- son, Mark Anderson, and Dorry Ehle. The Junior High also honored rheir sru- denrs who proved ro be exceprionol in differenr areas of school ocriviries. Ten sevenrh and eighrh grade srudenrs were chosen by rhe Midwesr Talenr Search ro roke rhe SAT resr and rwo of rhe sru- denrs surpossed by far, borh Junior High and many high school srudenrs in scores.
