JERRY MILLER The 1971 Arrow is dedicated to Mr. Miller, because to us he represents all a teacher should be. He is fair, honest, and truthful, yet he manages to retain his great sense of humor. Above all he considers teaching a challenge, not a task, making it enjoyable for both him and the students . We would like to pay tribute to him and wish him the best of luck in the coming years . CLASS OF 1971 Principal Jack Lee is the person respon- sible for all activities in the building; however, his major concern is the high school. H R I Z N S LIBRARIANS The library is a two-year old addition to the Woodlan school . The main part of the library and the balcony provide a total area of 5,318 square feet. Easy chairs set off the magazine and newspaper reading area. There are vertical files, film strip previewers, record players, 8-mm film loop machines, and cassette tape recorders to help enhance the usefulness and appeal of the library . The balcony is for reference work only . It houses all encyclopedias and other books having reference classifications . The library, which can seat i50 students, is under the supervision of Mrs. Wetter. She is helped out by part-time librarians who are students willing to give up their study halls to help in the library. AUDIO VISUAL The 29 ' by 28 ' audio visual room hiouses the AV equipment in cupboards and provides work- ing space for productions of materials . There is elaborate electronic equipment for video taping and television production and reception. In the studio, three television cameras can film live programs which can be transmitted through any one or all of the 28 teaching sta- tions . This and much more is under the control of Miss Rhinehart . POW wow STAFF The 1970-71 Pow Wow staff came out with some brand new ideas and put them into a newspaper with a brand new look. You can expect even more changes to take place next year when the staff will be composed of students from the journalism class that is to be offered to writers with creative ability. Publishing a school newspaper takes more time and effort than a once -a - month meeting can provide for, so in the future the Pow Wow should be better than ever . This year Renee Watson headed the staff as editor-in- chief. Dixie Burkdoll aided as news editor, Kathy Ketteman served as feature editor, Jeff Hoeppner carried out the duties of sports editor, and the society page was co -edited by Mary Herber and Angie Hostet- ler . Advisor Mr. Sherron with Angie Hostetler. 1971 ARROW YEARBOOK Co-editors Teresa Roth- geb and Connie Hall with advisor Mrs. Wetter. Thank goodness for our advisor! Without the help of Mrs .
